Default 1989 Donruss Blue Chips

Just picked up both Mets. These are supposed to be pretty rare, I read less than 10 of each player. These were supposedly scrapped for the Grand Slammers set.

Does anyone have any to show?

Very cool, Jim. I have never even heard of those before. Thanks for sharing.

I collect these. I'm missing 4 of the Leaf Version and 5 of the Donruss version. I'm not sure the below 4 exist though.

Mike Greenwell
Dave Winfield
Jessie Barfield
Ellis Burks

In addition to the four above, I'm missing the Donruss version of the Franklin Stubbs card. Up until recently, i had only seen 3 leaf versions offered in the past 10-15 years on ebay. From what i gather from others, they have not seen the four above either. I would love to see one of them if anyone has one and yes, i would be a buyer.

There are 4 color versions, but half of the set is done in only two versions and the other half is done in the other two color combos. At least from my research.

Yellow/Green & Purple/Red
Jose Canseco
Mike Marshall
Walt Weiss
Kevin McReynolds

Red/Yellow & Blue/Purple
Mark McGwire
Keith Hernandez
Franklin Stubbs
Danny Tartabull

Based on what I've come across, I'm not really sure if the Greenwell, Winfield, Barfield and Burks exist (they were probably produced, but maybe never saved). I have 25 of what I believe to be at most 48 of the cards (4 cards for each of the 12 players), but possibly only 32 exist. I have pictures of my 25 if you do a web search, which includes 6 of the 16 that PSA graded.

I will be thrilled if the Winfield was never produced. Would love to take those two cards off my want list.
