Hahahah lolllll I am currently reading his book (Christy Mathewson) then comes Ty Cobbs then Babe Ruths and so on and so on. I have SO MUCH to learn it feels awesome!!! I studied sociology at university and finished in 2006 and ever since then I crave learning...and up till now...yes 7 years I had found nothing that offered that type of challenge but the T-206 set AKA The Monster. I no nothing at all about the back types and will be putting most of my free time learning the most I can. I found this link on this site it looks really complicated and I love that.

I may also get involved in the 1887 Old Judge series but that one seems just to complicated

That is a great first card.
What a way to start the set. Whenever we discuss which T206 is the most attractive card, the two that are always mentioned are that Mathewson and the Cobb bat off the shoulder.
By the way there is a recent book on the set including biographies of the players. I'm finished with my copy, so if you want it you can have it ( no charge of course). PM if you want it.
Good luck with the set. I hope you have as much fun collecting as I have had.

Great first T206. Not many nicer than the Matty. Good luck on your journey. If you really want to learn a lot about this set, read Scot Reader's Inside T206 which is available for free online. A great reference for this set.
