Default I think I'm done buying raw cards on Ebay

I think I'm done buying raw cards on the bay. I recently bought a couple hundred raw 1958's. The pics weren't real good, so I messaged the seller with a real simple question: "what percentage of the cards have creases?". Unfortunately, too many sellers think cards all creased up are still in Ex-NM. The seller responded "I just Flipped through 40-50 and not one crease.". So I took the plunge.

Fast forward a week.....out of about 200 cards, 60 cards have creases (many really bad) and another 20 have MK, PL, pinholes, etc. The other 120 aren't all that "excellent" either.

Not surprising, the seller won't respond to any emails despite stating returns accepted. I'm simultaneously venting and raising the white flag on eBay. Certainly Not the the first time this has happened either. I'd ask if anyone has a similar story, but I suspect we have all had numerous similar experiences.

Default Ungraded cards

All my set are ungraded (Topps 48 and 51 to 2011). if I need cards I buy singles based on scans and reputation. I think buying cards in bulk is always going to be risky if you are particular about condition

Ouch that sucks. I have had to return a few of the lots that I have bough for similar reasons, but never had problems with the refund. Might have to go through ebay to get your money back =\ Good luck.

Yeah, when buying in bulk lots, I fully expect to encounter a few bogeys in the bunch. I've just never seen this type of deceit before. I guess I've been pretty fortunate in my Internet dealings before this.

Yep, no matter how careful you are, sooner or later, you run into the bad apple. I wouldn't let it sour you on ebay sellers as a whole.

Ditto what Al said, although I stopped with the 1991 set(s).

I bought a ton of raw cards off of Ebay, but I usually stick with sellers that have solid reps.
If you think you're getting an amazing deal, then plan on getting scammed.
If you paid by paypal, contact paypal to get your money back.
They always seem to kiss the customers butt.

When I buy raw on ebay, I just automatically assume they will be lower grade and bid accordingly.
