Default 1957 Topps Uncut Panel w/Mantle

Just wanted to share a recent pick-up...Does anyone know how many of these uncut panels are out there for 1957? I saw 3 on eBay and have seen a few from time to time. I also saw an entire sheet at a show...BTW-What do you think this is worth? I paid $125 on a BIN. I"m thinking of adding some more 1957 pieces to my collection...still can't find a lucky penny card....Any other pieces associated with '57 topps? Thanks.

Looks like someone with an uncut 1957 Topps sheet feels that they can get more money for it by cutting it up into smaller panels. That's what yours is. It's hard enough to determine a value on a full uncut sheet, let alone partial panels...........

Default A Rosen "find"

Some years back Alan Rosn had a "find" of a large number of uncut panels of beat-up 57T that he advertised in SCD. There were a number of Mantle panels.

I no longer remember the specifics of when, how many, pricing, etc.

Default Mantle panel

There seem to be varying degrees in the airbrushing of the phantom figure in the 57 Mantle. On this one it is hard to tell because of some discoloration on the card itself, but the figure looks lighter in this one than in some. I have seen noticeable differences and saw it discussed in an article once, but not sure where.

In addition to the Lucky Penny insert card, I picked up one of the send aways with the penny in a holder with a chain on ebay some years back

Also have the 4 contest cards..5/4...5/26...6/22 and 7/19, and the 8 checklists ...4 Bazooka and 4 Blony.

Also have one paper proof...Goth ( 360)...and a cut panel like yours ( 4) with Kaline.

The 57 pack is not cheap but a lot easier than the 56 or 58

A friend and I picked up a stack of '57 uncut panels at the National in '05. Some had Mantle, some Kaline, but all were priced @ $30 a pop. Registration was all over the place, and the ones that had water damage we passed on, but for some reason there are a lot of them out there.
Not sure they were cut down purposely, but '57 sheets seem to be a lot more plentiful than most other years of the era.
'62 has a lot as well.
