just wondering if any of the resident box experts (ie anthony) can provide any insight as to how scarce the 1964 topps giants display boxes are and also what the value of a near-mint example might be--thanks in advance for any help!

Thanks for the compliment KG, but I'm hardly an expert- more like a very avid collector.
I don't think they are that tough- harder than the regular '64 boxes, but I see a lot more of them than Stand up boxes and the '64 Xmas display boxes. I've seen 2 of each of those in the last 5 years, and still need one of each.
I"m basing this on examples in any presentable condition. In high grade I have no idea, and it's probably more dependent on whether or not there were finds.
'64 Giant cards themselves are very, very plentiful, but I suspect most of them come from vending. As a kid in the mid '70's they were sold in envelopes of 25 for a buck at Dodger Stadium. I'd guess that the boxes are not as common as the abundance of cards would lead you to believe, but that is purely speculation on my part.
I'm assuming from your post you've got one, I'd love to see a scan of a near mint example.
Here's the one I have, and the 2 pack variations. I"ve yet to see an uncut sheet, anyone else come across one?

Hi Anthony. I am a wrapper collector and was intrigued by your comment of two pack variations for the 1964 Topps Giants. What are the variations and are there two wrapper variations also? Thanks for the info!

Jeff- don't know if you can see the scan of the two packs in my previous post, but they show the 2 varations. One has a yellow stripe at the bottom of the front and the other has a white stripe. Pretty trivial and I probably wouldn't have bought both, but I put in bids and they both held up so I ended up with both. No idea if one is tougher than the other.
