Default 1952 Topps Reprint Set

I am new to the forums and appreciate all of your posts and knowledge on anything card related. I have a question for you. I picked up the 1983 released 1952 Topps Reprint Set (opened but in original box) today for $2.50. At that price it was impossible to pass up. Unfortunately guess what card was missing? Right, the Mantle. Everything else is there and I am debating whether to just sell / trade the singles or just transfer the star cards to my personal collection. It seems like a waste to buy the Mantle and most of them look like copies of the reprint that are sold online anyway. I would really appreciate your thoughts. Thanks.

Some of these cards sell well on COMC.com. Since you got such a good price on the set, you might resell them in team sets or just put them up for sale on the BST auction board here if you don't want to keep them.

No advice on what to do. If you want to trade it let me know what you are looking for in trade, I love reprint sets.

I have an unopened set I bought long ago. Can not remember what I paid but it was a lot more than $ 2.50 .

Is the set in otherwise good shape ? Any one know what it would cost to replace the Mantle ?

You can find the Mantle for less than $5 delivered. I also seen it listed for way more than you can buy the whole set for.

I noticed this one yesterday, and although I have no idea if the bidders think it is a real copy or not, I am surprised they are bidding this much on a reprint, which says so right in the sellers ad.

I have seen several like that. They must think it looks real would be my guess. My thinking is always that if the seller thought it was real, he would send it off to be graded.
