Default Leaf signature Mariano Rivera psa help

I just got this 1996 leaf signature Mariano Rivera back from psa and I am dumbfounded how it graded an EX 5. Thoughts, advice are welcome.

It is the PSA SWAG; I find one of them in every submission I make.

The upper left corner looks like it has a pretty good ding in it. I can see some shading on both the front and the back. That would downgrade this to a 5 easily.

I think PSA is nuts and this is another good example why.

Is there possibly a hairline spider wrinkle in it somewhere? Can't see in pictures, but maybe tilt in different angles in the light to check that. Could be a tiny wrinkle that's hard to notice at first glance.

If not, I can't see how it's possibly a 5.

When shopping for cards I make a point to look at PSA 5 and 6 cards because they typically offer the best cards for the buck. This example though edges show wear esp on back. And top left and bottom right corners say ex not nr mint to me. JMHO..
To be honest when I take my own self interest out of equation I agree with grades 98 -99% of the time. And it seems much more subjective at very top of scale and very bottom than the mid grades. Again JMHO.

I guess I am used to looking at 1956 graded topps cards. From that perspective I would have thought this was a 6.5 at the worst. Bummer man.

That top right corner on the back scan actually appears to be creased about 1/8" from the actual edge. Though it could just be the scan. Heck of a card regardless!
