Ive had a busy month of buying in September and ive bought 5 cards that couldve made this list any other month but my favorite far and away is a Slidin Billy Hamilton old judge card.Hes been a favorite of mine as far back as i can remember.I even took a picture of his plaque at the hall of fame when i was 7,and i didnt just take pics of any plaques during that trip.

This buy could qualify as the longest time between wanting a card and actually getting it for me at least.

I bought an N28 Ward with a very nice Ex front, but 100% back damage - no text remaining. I wouldn't call it skinned. It's still almost as thick as an undamaged card. I paid only $49, so it qualifies as my favorite purchase of the month.

I FINALLY found the last GDMF common I needed to finish my 1948 Leaf boxing set. It has been a aurprisingly lengthy struggle to find clean cards with crisp images that grade at least vg-ex.

In my pursuit to complete the 1909, 1910 (175), and 1911 T212 Obak sets, I was able to add 19 cards this month. Here's a list of the players I snagged:

1910 175 series T212-2: Bonner, James, Miller, Mohler, Mundorff, Pennington, Vitt, Williams

1911 T212-3: Arellanes, James, Pernoll, Skeels, Stovall, Sutor, Swain, Thomas, Williams, Wiggs, Wheeler

but my favorite is a really crappy PSA1 '33 Goudey Lou Gehrig #160 that I just won. I can't afford a decent Gehrig and the two I've owned in the past were so damned ugly I sold them - a '33 Goudey with the ad cut off the bottom, and a '34 "smiling Lou" that was so trashed that he was actually frowning.

My two favorites. (As for the second card, I still consider the 50's to be vintage):

I actually think the Musial is especially nice for a 5. Off center, but very nice corners and surface. Had it not been for the centering, I think it could be a grade or two higher.

The Keefe is nice as I am trying to get each of the 300 game winners and he is the first of the 19th century pitchers that Ive purchased.

Ichiro closing in on his single season record should gain Sisler quite a bit of recognition if you compare their respective seasons, youll see the year Sisler set the record was one of the best years ever.

Not only did he bat .407 and set the hit record, but he led the league in average and total bases and finished 2nd in slugging, doubles, triples, runs scored, home runs, rbi's and stolen bases

Tho its almost a given now that Ichiro will break the record it would be nice if he finished in a tie just so Sislers remarkable season doesnt get forgotten

Its nice to see someone I (and have done businss with) recognize on the board.

I'm the guy from Canada that you purchased the T206 Mathewson and the 33 Goudey Ott from. Hope you like them.

As to this month so far I think my fave purchase was an N284 Little Nick Nichol in SGC 40 condition. It has bad left to right centering but still looks nice and when it comes to this set you can't really be choosey as there are so few graded copies around.

Hello Jason - had no idea that was you. The cards are both great and, had they been bought in September, would definately have been in contention (the matty would have made it for sure). Thanks again for the cards.

I picked up the following postcard this evening to go with my vintagecatcher collection. Not only did it come cheaply, but it will be a nice companion piece for the matted, original Saturday Evening Post Cover that I have owned for over 20 years.

same pose and bg color as the e95 I recently acquired. I love Tinker's portraits--hair keeps getting more and more like Wolverine's. Guess Hugh Jackman'll have to play him in the movie...
