And this is why you don't ship expensive cards with FedEx and UPS.

If you're gonna ship them, send them registered through the USPS. It's the safest way to go.

UPS is notorious for ripping open packages. I stopped buying a certain collectible, because I could never get it to arrive. I always got an empty box, that was ripped open at one end and then taped back shut.

FedEx has repeatedly left packages on my front porch including one that had a PSA 7 E93 Cobb, '33 Goudey Ruth #53, and a handful of T206 HoFs. I would never use FedEx to send anything valuable and wish that the auction companies would stop.

Of all the shipping services for overnight delivery I prefer FedEx by a large margin. The customer service people, unlike UPS, are intelligent and cooperative, and their tracking service is second to none.

I've never had a problem with orange-purple Fed Ex. Fed Ex Home green-blue sucks. They delivered my Mastro winnings to me today at the office. I heard a knock on the door, got up from my desk and by the time I got to the door they'd already dumped the package at the door and bolted from the office building. Not what I'd expect when delivering expensive (at least to me) merchandise. I would never, ever use them and think Mastro should change shippers.

"DHL HELL"

i bought a big box of wax packs 4 years ago.
dhl did not deliver , they could not find my address, so they left it somewhere else.
i spoke to the ceo of DHL he was not interested at all.the SHIPPER WOULD NOT FILE A REQUEST FOR LOST PACKAGE OR FUNDS.
i have to date never seen a claim form
nothing at all,,, the supreme court would be my next avenue?

Thank you for contacting DHL.

I apologize, the local station has advised that the shipment was in
fact delivered. However, the courier went back to where he delivered the
package and it was gone and the house is now vacant. At this time you
will need to contact your shipper to initiate a loss claim with DHL.

We appreciate the opportunity to serve you.

Is this gentleman from Florida going to be able make Fed Ex reimburse him for the lost cards?

On the back of the FedEx Airway Bill the highest declared value for items of extraordinary value is $500. The airway bill then directs the user to the Service Guide for a list of items of extraordinary value. Under the Service Guide, baseball cards are explicitly included as an item of extraordinary value.

I'll have to agree with whoever said use USPS for your overnight deliveries. My house is fairly tough to find, and whenever UPS delivers something, they can't find it and I have to drive to their local place to pick it up. FedEx at least has the driver call me so I can direct him to my house. USPS has no problem whatsoever. Thanksfully, I have never had any lost or damaged packages.

I had a serious problem with UPS in the late 80s. I had over $20k worth of stuff disappear from boxes. UPS's response, instead of investing the continuing theft, was "That's what the insurance on the package is for". I told them the money won't be able to replace those items. They said, tough luck, I got my insurance money.

That's 20 years ago and to this day, I will NEVER use UPS.

Jay

I love pinatas. You get to beat the crap of something and get rewarded with candy.
