Default N28 question about an Anson

Posted By: Charlie O'Neal

I have been wondering if the following card looked real. I debated for a while before bidding and decided not to since the back looked weird/trimmed and I am not real familar with the N28 issue.
The reason I say the back looks weird is b/c of the botton of the card on the back and the right hand edge of the card where there is the two longest names on the checklist. These two instances look different from graded copies so I was just wondering.

Default N28 question about an Anson

You made the right decision in holding off. The card is a fake. First off, the seller's disclaimer is a big fat red flag. Also, the card stock/color is off. This one looks cream colored and faded, while authentic N28s are a more vibrant white colored background.

Card is heavily trimmed all the way around. Looks authentic to me, but card stock looks too thin in photo. Most reprint have backs printed in black.

Default N28 question about an Anson

I'm not sure if they where fake Ben, the backs didn't look bad. I have an N28 that is real and has similar toning.

might be original but i agree with frank, the scan of the back looks like its trimmed. i think the first scan is just a bad one although i've seen many reprints that looked that color. i'd stay away. keith
