D&D played Layla out of the chute and just a handful of other songs, but Elton John's set saved the evening. (By the way, a band called Toe Fat was the first to take the stage that night. How many of you can say you saw THAT act!?!)

I also saw Stevie Wonder back up the Stones. It was at Madison Square Garden, on the night of Mick's 29th birthday, so they brought out a big cake for him. That was in 1972.
