Default Pawn Stars...Babe ruth strip card

So my friend sent me this link to a pawn stars episode featuring a babe ruth strip card that walked in in psa 10. The guy was asking 60K...they offered him 8K.

To me...no strip cards should receive a numerical grade...alas...I don't think this card is worth anywhere near 8K

What do y'all think?

I had this card in a SGC 8. Sold at LOTG for a little over $700 as I recall

I am going to have to learn about Strip Cards. Since seeing this thread I been looking at them on ebay.
Basically the dark days of bb cards and all were made on thin paper. Right?

no strips are mostly on thicker stock. they are not terribly desirable...and there were plenty of other issues from that era.

could be a cheaper point of entry though!

He should have taken it for $40,000. It was a deal compared to what the exact same card is selling for on eBay. At that price, you would think the S/H would be free.

Don't forget $69.99 for shipping! Can't let THAT card go for anything less than $100 K!

This is one area of card grading that is total bullshit to me. I no longer have any strip cards in my collection except one Babe Ruth but I used to have some that should have been mint condition and were graded authentic . They are minting money for a select few customers .

Default interesting

so a strip card you have/had that you feel is a mint card but cant get a number grade from a TPG isn't worth having in your collection? Doesn't that make it no longer about a mint card but the holder and someone else's opinion? For me a grade just participates in helping to determine a marketable price - the card itself is immutable.

don't be twisting my words around now!!!!! most strip cards are butt ugly...and this was no exception!!!!!! "that'' is the reason it is gone!!!!!

if u know my collection you'd know I'm not concerned w/numerical grades.
