He also left out a significant CdV, of the Brooklyn Atlantics, ca. 1861, that very well may be the first. There are so many candidates that the argument can never be settled with any finality.

Sounds like the person that sent the email helped KO (excuse the boxing reference) the thought that the Peck and Snyder is the first baseball card. Nice to see other good hobby references used in the article.

To be correct the 1869 Peck and Snyder can, of course, be said to be the first Professional (all members being paid) baseball card. Only us addicts really care, imo....
