Ok. So let's see who is out there. I am curious of who else is out there that collects things similar to me, as I am sure many of you are too. Some of us have introduced ourselves in the "Welcome" thread and the "Show me your displays.." thread, but let's get a more comprehensive roster of who collects vintage memorabilia and what. I'll start.

Memorabilia interests: Sports display antiques. Focus on all types of pre- war memorabilia and antiques, from equipment to emphemera, trophies, advertisng, photos,...you name it. I am a generalist, but my niche and area of expertise is pre-1930 baseball uniforms and early uniform dating and tags.

Collecting history: Cards 30 years, but primary focus the past 15 has been displayable memorabilia. Very much a generalist who has gone through the many phases I mentioned on another post. With each phase I try to become a mini expert regarding that niche by learning as much as I can as quickly as I can. As I acquire more pieces, my understanding, knowledge, and collection grow along with my enjoyment of the hobby.

I never get to post about my collection, since I don't collect cards, so I can finally participate in one of these threads. I don't have a lot left, but here goes:

1859 NAABP League Constitution- second earliest known league constitution
1860 Ballplayers Pocket Companion (in transit at the moment)
Henry Chadwick's The Game of Baseball

I've sold nearly all of my other pieces and just kept a few of my favorites.

I collect early mentions of baseball and thoses games which are the roots of the game. Mostly books including childrens school book,chapbooks, and game books

1844 Boy's Own Book- early decription of rounders
1840's Sander's first reader- school book with a cover illistration of a one boy pitching to another in a school yard scene
1864- American Boy's Book of Sports- early rules of the game and furst color picture in a book
1869- Changing Base- 1st baseball fiction

I am addicted to sports antiques. My collection consists of early photography, ring bats, sports advertising, melon balls, leather football helmets,gloves, and of course trophies (this is what I am most known for). I have attended the national since 1984 or 1985. My father and I collected cards together, but once I got into college, I sold the cards and started on sports antiques. My favorite two pieces are a double-sided A. G. Spalding and Bros. porcelain sign and a stunning silk from the Excelsiors. I enjoy the relationships that I have built over the years with fellow collectors in the hobby ( I just wish more lived on the West Coast). Photos will be posted soon!

I search for anything to do with Jimmie Foxx. His personal items. Cards. game tickets from the world series he was in. Magazines where he is on the cover. Awards given to him. His autograph...I have about 70 original photos, both wire and news. A complete 35 wheaties box in like new condition. Cleats with his name engraved. Rare pins of him. hundreds of other items. More than I have time to type. Occasionally I will pick up a hack wilson item, or gehrig. Some times a little ruth thing or two. What i really covet are original photos with Ruth and Foxx together. My wife even lets me hang one in the family room. Jimmie and babe are golfing. I use to write back and forth with Jimmies daughter. back when people wrote on paper. Also occasionally A connie mack piece, and a Phil. A's piece. I have a big heavy ink well given to Connie mack after the 29 and 30 world series wins. It has two gold leaf elephants and a clock. Gorgeous.

Edited to add, I am 53. I must leave now, they are about to wheel me out to the patio to feed me my pablum.

Area of interest: pre-1920 Red Sox. Started collecting Sox in 2003. Have collected Brewery advertising with my dad for 30+ years. Main area of interest, pre-prohibition (1920)advertising. That collection is extensive with many unique rare items. Have a few nice pieces for the Sox, but by no means an extensive collection.

Found it a natural flow from similar eras of beer to the Red Sox. Obviously love the connection with Nuf Ced's Third Base (how many actually know the brands and the breweries advertised in the photo of that place?). Have always loved the history of the game, wife thinks I'm insane for yet another tangent. Pick up pieces as I find I like them. Will never, can never, collect it all, but it's still good fun.

started collecting when I was 6 years old, my Dad would buy me sets on
Holidays and Birthdays.
When I was about 14 years old, I started to help local dealers at shows and
flea markets.
While I was in college I started collecting early baseball items that I
would find at local shows in Maine. I started buying and selling on eBay in
1997 while I was at school, a year later I was doing more on eBay. My
collection was growing as well
When I graduated, there was not too much time to collect, but I always found
time to go and buy some T206 cards and Goudeys at local shows and from
dealers in my area. This trend lasted for a few years, in 2000 I got married
and sold most of what I had, but started thinking, I can still do this on
eBay - on my honeymoon I purchased the Barry Halper Auction Books. I
continued to gain knowledge about the hobby and pre-war related items and
started to collect and sell different issues like candy cards, strip cards
and issues I never had before. The past few years I started buying gloves,
bats, programs, photos and other memorabilia. I created my website so I
would have a place to keep track of what I had. In the near future it will
be a great place to expand my business from eBay to the website so people
can find information about me and get to know what I sell and collect. I
still go and help dealers at local shows, and have some space for my own
items.

The main item's i like collecting is game used bats and hall of fame autographs. I love team signed baseball's. Can't wait till i have the money to buy my 1930's yank's with Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig. Also a 1978 yankee ball because my dad loved that team. Also anything vintage.

Besides cards, I collect pre 1930 bats, mostly 19th century. Mainly I collect odd looking bats, unusual shapes and wood types. I have a number of ring, mushroom, and ball knob bats, as well as several bunting bats and composite bats. My collection totals around 75.

Since memoribilia has been banished/promoted to this forum, I barely even look at the the regular forum. How many "Show me your Walter Johnson portrait" type posts can one take

Collecting for I don't know how long. Seems like forever.

I collect tobacco tins, some sports related, some not. Moved my office three years ago and packed everything away. This board has given me the imputus to dig some stuff out and display it again.

I, like Max, collect PCL material, I do have a couple of interesting Pacific Coast Biscuit items that I'll post over the weekend.

As most of you know I collect postcards.

I also collect (if I may say so on a non-card site) zeenut cards. Working on 1911, nine to go; good start on 1912; and a type run.

I collect prewar card sets, mostly 30's sets and pre 1930 bats, mostly 19th century bats. I've collected cards for 25+ years and bats for about 7-8 years. I posted some pics of a few 19th century bats yesterday and will post more from time to time. I especially enjoy homemade bats and bats with odd shapes. I have one carved from a tree limb and another that appears to be a piece of fence post shaved down to bat size as well as a 40 inch monster bat made in 1900.

3 kids and 4 grand kids (The two 10 year old grandsons love going to card shows. I'm trying to convert them from the shiny stuff to vintage.)

Collecting Harpers Woodcuts, Leslies Woodcuts, Pre 1900 magazines, books, ads, mostly of the woodcut variety. I try to sell enough stuff to pay for my collection, but lately I've been spending much more than I sell. Oh well!

I'm 37 and teach at a small college.

I collect letterhead samples of sports teams and leagues from 1969 (my birth year) and earlier. They are generally affordable, can have great logos and designs, and sometimes have interesting content. I also collect tobacco cards (T206 and a couple other sets), but their prices make even low grade cards a stretch for me.

After completing several pre-war card sets, I began collecting felts. I have almost a complete set of B18s, a complete set of BF2s with 3 prize Feruguson pennants, almost a complete set of 1913 cravats, over 400 different BF3 small pennants and a fairly large assortment of other pre and post war pennants.
