Default Baseball themed family room

When I got back into collecting it was solely to have something to display in the new family room we were building. After abandoning the MLB HOF RC idea I've now decided to just collect cards and memorabilia of players I like (or liked as a kid).

We just repainted our family room and I decided to change my display cases (cleaner more organized look, less clutter).

I've purchased quite of few of my cards and memorabilia on N54. Thanks to all of you for your help!

I thought I'd share the new look.

Let's see photos of your baseball room.

The room is awesome. Sending pictures to my wife to see if she would be open to something similar.

Beautifully done. I guess a "family room" needs to be much less cluttered than a "man cave".

I was able to do this with my bedroom but the wife put her foot down for the rest of the house. ;-)

I have the space but I have a wife. My collection is relegated to one corner of the second bedroom and a sliver of closet space. She never questions the money that I spend so I will take that exchange.

I noticed the same thing earlier and laughed...a microwave in the midst of a magnificent display stuck out like a sore thumb

Dan...beautiful display! Thanks for sharing!

Dan, great layout.

Does your family really spend time there or just you?

Nice built-ins. My wife would never go for this. If I ever wanted to make a baseball themed room, the best I could ever hope for is an unfinished basement, cobwebs and all.

That such an awesome room, I was telling my Dad about it the other day prior to your recent thread. I remember when I first joined there was a thread on man caves or displays or something and your room was in it, definitely made an impression. Do those displays come with their own lighting?

I showed this thread to my wife. She said "that is why I wanted to do in [the family room]". After talking more we realized that the reason it hasn't been done is because with 3 little ones (ages 3,2, and 1) and another on the way we just never get organized enough to get it done in a way that the items would stay safe from children.
