Default 1971-72 Fleer Globetrotters question

I recently bought a group of 1971-72 Fleer Globetrotters cards with the intent of putting together a set. I notice that some of the cards' backs are pretty dark, and others are visibly lighter. Is this common to the issue, and is there any rhyme or reason to which cards' backs are darker vs. lighter?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Rob

Rob, Each card in the set comes with the two different shades of gray on the back. It is my understanding that these were printed at different times and probably by different printers using a slightly differnt card stock, but not sure which one was printed first or if one version is tougher than the other. Most collectors that collect these settle for a hybred set (mixed backs), but some like myself try for a master set ( one of each version).
