Default A special message from Graig Kreindler.........FINAL RESULTS

Please See Graig's post below, and I will be posting the games here shortly, in the meantime, Graig has given good instructions below.

I want to thank Graig, in allowing us to present such a great final piece that someone will walk away with, you have all been great. You all do so much for the hobby/business of collecting of sports memorabilia, You give your time and efforts everyday through Identifing, preserving and collecting of sports history, and often act as watchdogs over, what I consider, the greatest hobby in the world. The quality of knowledge, which you possess may often go unappreciated. But not by Graig, or myself. I would include Lance along with Graig and myself, but he is actually one of the many I am talking about, so a double thank you to Lance.
So to cut this short, as you have read enough of my postings by this time, good luck to everyone of you.
And please, keep up your good work.

THE GAME: WED, MAY 14, Cubs @ Cardinals, postponed due to rain.

If above rained out: May 14, Boston @ Minnesota, starting pitching; Doubpont (Boston), Correia (Minn).

Hey all,

So, I'm super excited to say that the race to win the first official raffle is underway.

For starters, I wanted to thank each and everyone of you who have expressed interest in this bit of fun. And an even heartier 'thank you' to those who have entered. I'm still truly honored that so many of you enjoy my work enough to be a part of this occasion. And if all goes as planned, this is something that I would love to do somewhat regularly. You, the good people of Net54, really have played a huge part in whatever success I've managed to accrue over the past few years, whether it be through sales, connections, or simple words of encouragement. I only hope that these raffles are a good start to giving back to you guys.

We have received all of dues without much of a hitch, so we're ready to announce the game that you guys should keep an eye on. This Wednesday, May 14, the Cubs will be facing the Cardinals in St. Louis at 7:15 CT. The winning number will be taken from the last three digits of the attendance of this game as given on the New York Times website box score. Even in the event of a different attendance number being given at the ballpark, on the radio, television or elsewhere. If there is a rain-out, a backup game has already been chosen, and will be posted on the front page of this new thread as soon as we learn of the change.

The results will be posted as soon as we have them, as well as the winner's name and Net54 tag. From there, I hope to use the rest of this thread as a chronicle of the whole process, from beginning contacts to the completed piece. Therefore, when we do this again, interested parties can refer back to these pages and will hopefully get a better idea of how it all unfolds.

Once again, hearty gratitude goes out to Bill Boyd, Lance Fittro and Leon Luckey for making this thing a reality. Thanks, boys.

And if any of you have questions, feel free to PM myself or Bill.

Good luck to you all!

Graig

Guys and Girls-
This whole thing has been the brainchild of Bill and Graig (hi Bill and Graig) and their attention to the details, while having some fun, is much appreciated. I have been quite hands off on the whole process and it has gone off without a hitch. Bill has done an outstanding job with it and Graig is Graig . We love ya' man!! Thanks to everyone for all of the civility shown. Good luck to everyone and may the luckiest person win!!

Thankyou, Bill and Lance, for all the legwork (I know it wasn't easy at times), and thanks in advance to Graig for painting such an awesome piece for me.

Just a quick heads up for y'all, today's Cubs game was postponed due to rain, so it's off to Minnesota with Boston we go!

Keep your eyes on this space for the final boxscore number.

Good luck!

Ive been watching the game on MLB. I counted the fans everytime they panned the crowd. I counted 22,959 at the game. Hard part was deducting the vendors and security personnel.

Congrats to the winner! Wish there were 61 more people that made their way to the game but still a lot of fun hoping and dreaming maybe I could win a Kriendler. Closest I'll ever come. Again, congratulations!

Effe,
Congratulations, I wonder if the reason he hasn't piped in yet is he is trying to decide what he want done.

Please everyone, feel free to critique this contest and how you felt it was run, communication, final results, etc. I know, too many rules,,,,,lol, but we should be able to cut that down. The length was long, But we started with a proposal to do this, then to the actual procedure, took some time. So the first step (proposal) will be eliminated. And the cap will probably change also, but not to one.
So critique this whole process, I am looking forward to your input.

All can say is wow! I hit the hay pretty early last night so I'm still in shock after the PM I received from billyb. I looked over some possible subjects but really didn't give it any serious thought. Obviously now I'll have to.

EFFE,
Once you select several possible Subjects for your painting, let's see the the pics of those in the running. I'm sure we all would like to help in the process...LOL

I guess this is where the losers get to chime in with their futile suggestions...

Easy to see that Effe is a Milwaukee guy. So damned many possibilities, but I always thought this was the quintessential image of Spahnie. The Braves had such a killer uniform. It would certainly make for an incredible 16 X 20 Kreindler masterpiece!

Many congrats to Effe!

Congrats to the winner and much thanks to Bill (and Graig) for putting this together. Look forward to the next auction!! Mark , I love that Marvin Newman/Warren Spahn image . That would be an awesome painting. The color slide transparency was recently sold by Henry Yee and he still sells a few from that shoot. If I was going Milwaukee Braves it would be hard to stay away from the Hammer! Adam
