Joey is on an official break from the board (banned). He sent me an email last night asking to be banned and I obliged. We get a lot of guys on the board with situations and I think he really needs some help. I don't think he's that bad of a guy and has a medical issue he needs to be treated for. I could be wrong on that..... But please don't ask him questions or go on and on about him as he won't be able to respond now. I have no idea if he will be allowed or want to come back in the future. It won't be for a quite a while, at least. As for Glenn, I don't see him ever being allowed on the board again. He might sneak back in and if he does I hope someone alerts me as they usually do. Carry on....

Has one thread ever resulted in TWO people being banned before? This could be Net 54 history right here!

This is about the 11th forum Joey has been banned from: comics, autographs, cards, coins, electric trains, etc. lol. And there are threads here from 2012 and 2013 which parrot this one to a T: Joey getting caught lying and cheating, denying it at first, then issuing massive mea culpas and promising never to do it again, that he has mental problems and will get better, and that he hopes everyone gives him a second - no third - woops, I mean fourth chance. And of course the fraud continued unabated up to today, yet never did he admit that was engaging in fraud. At least in one of the prior threads he described himself as a "scumbag" -- that was a highlight for me. Might have been the only honest thing he ever said out here.

Hey, you got a bad peach? That's an act of God. He makes the peaches. I don't make the peaches, I sell the peaches. You have a problem? You talk to him.

The most humorous part of this thread is the soft, sympathetic attention Joey was getting shortly after posting his "dilemma" until Jeff came crashing through the door, a la swat team, with guns blazing! What a script!!

No he isn't logged in. A banned member can't login.

I should add that it is probably a caching issue on your computer. It happens frequently to me.

Well, I haven't piped in yet, so here goes:

Count me in as another that is thankful to Jeff for his time & fine work in these matters.
There is a big difference between one who apologizes, admits guilt & will work on their problem after getting caught compared to one who does it because they want to better themselves. Joey did not start this thread with apologies & guilt admitting, he came up with this after Jeff proved he has continued his old behavior.
Also, I am fascinated by Jeff's ability to weed out these frauds, alts, etc....
For example, how did you know this other guy that Leon also banned was an alt and exactly who he was?

If you are speaking of Glenn W, no one is impersonating him, trust me.

btw, Joey is 100% Joey. I am 100% sure,......yes, 100%

It's kind of weird that anyone would be double-checking to make sure a banned member isn't logged in. On my list of Saturday afternoon things to do, that one's right below watching a movie on the Lifetime channel.

According to his profile he was logged in at 11:15 AM this morning. Perhaps banned member can log in and view, but can not respond?

I see that and am not sure how that happened. Most likely it had to do with him being allowed on the board but not the BST. That is a very unusual situation. I double checked and banned members can't log in and clicked some more buttons "no" so that should do it. I know a regularly banned person can't log in unless there was a major software glitch. I doubt very much he will be able to login again. I hope members will let me know if they see him or Willrich come back. Willrich has sneaked back in a few times before.

Must be tough for Glenn not to be able to sell those $35 cards on BST and then flip out when there isn't a stampede to buy them.

I just raised the prices on all my cards to at least $36, to cover what I like to call 'the Calvindog line'. Hopefully everyone understands, and also credits me appropriately when using my new term.

Leon, it was a good idea.

I met Joey Saturday for the first time - had coffee and a long pleasant conversation. Since I only live 20 minutes away from him, it seemed like a good idea. I hadn't planned to post anything about it, and won't respond to questions about him, but here are a few thoughts.

I agreed with Leon's post above before I talked with Joey, and I still agree with it after having met him. I have no idea if Joey really got robbed or not - the subject didn't cross my mind until he was gone. But I know that this forum, being the community where he's made a bunch of hobby friends and had a lot of fun, is important to him. Now that he has said that he had everything but a few items stolen, re-selling said stolen items by himself would be pretty much impossible. So they might as well be stolen. I bought the Jackson painting. I had mixed thoughts about it, since by buying it I was allowing Joey to succeed at circumventing his B/S/T ban. But I actually wanted the painting and thought it should be off the market ASAP - it had already been on ebay briefly, which seemed wrong. So now that part of the drama is done with.

So now Joey no longer has anything that he can sell other than a few basketball photos that he said were inexpensive. Knowing self-control was going to be a problem, he asked to be banned, and he has been. Not making excuses for him, but not sure what else we can do here to make ourselves feel any better.

What eBay name did he use this time?

At least that makes sense -- unlike his failure to post the police report or pictures of all his beloved pictures which were supposedly stolen. I guess he just figured if he walked around the block a few more times the balance of his collection would be out there on the street, waiting for him.
