Default When did SGC get rid of their Grade Guarantee?

Looks like it has gone poof under the new website. Was this change sent out to their customer base or promoted anywhere? Do they still guarantee cards from when their guarantee was in effect? Seems like if they didn't inform any of their customers that they no longer offer a grade guarantee, they may be setting themselves up for lawsuits. And if they don't back up the cards that were guaranteed when they were graded, even more lawsuits.

Does the G in SGC stand for Guaranty anymore?

Relatedly, why did they move to randomly generated certs? Did they offer a reason for doing so?

Right around when I checked the site regarding my t206 forgery, and they directed me to the FBI for restitution. Maybe when the said "something great is coming" that's what they meant?

What was your T206 issue? Just curious to know.

This seems like big news. Does anyone around here know someone at SGC who can confirm whether or not they still have a guarantee?

I agree that this is a big deal and would love clarification from the company.

Even though it's a useful tool for the Blowout Detectives, I do hope PSA offers randomly generated certs in the future. I have nothing to hide, but I've never liked how my subs can be recreated using one cert number.

I think it's enormously helpful when doing due diligence on a card before buying. Of course maybe nobody does due diligence before buying except looking at the flip and price. I can't imagine what's not to like about it. There is more than enough secrecy in this hobby already.
