Default FS: Moe Berg 1940 original passport photo/sold

////sold

Got some bills to pay, so I'm putting up this neat item for sale. It's a circa 1940 passport photo of Moe Berg, the infamous "catcher spy." I got obsessed with Moe briefly after reading a couple of books about him, and I bought this item off of ebay. The seller told me then he won it at a "major auction house." I scanned in the sleeve it came in and scanned in the front and back separately. Those latter two came out a little brighter than the actual photo. The photo's brightness is probably somewhere in between the two. (My scanner stinks.) I'm not sure how they dated the photo to 1940. Maybe someone could find an image somewhere of his passport from that time and see if it matches up. Definitely appears to be a passport photo, though. Photo has some light age soiling and toning. There's a wrinkle on the back that barely shows up on the front (have to look close). Striking image of Moe looking all spy-like.

Asking $180 for it. Includes shipping and insurance. I prefer paypal and will charge no extra paypal "fees."

e-mail me at robfouch@aol.com. First one that says I'll take it gets it. Thanks!

Rob
