Default Question for eBay sellers

For those of you who sell frequently on eBay- I found an item listed I've been looking for a while now. Problem is the BIN is crazy high. I looked up the last three auction sales and they are between 4-6% of the asking price. Is it insulting/a waste of time to send an offer that is 1/20th of someone's BIN?

Yes. More than likely he's got a threshold set for auto-decline.

I have people message me after they've made an offer on it and it auto-declined. That way I can make them a direct offer with the absolute lowest I will go and they have 48 hours to decide.
