Default Winning Streak Comparisons:

The Rays won their 13th straight yesterday- in walk-off fashion, just as the 1982 Braves and the 1987 Brewers did.

The Run Differential Comparison:

ATL: 66-34

MIL: 89-53

TBR: 101-30

- the Moneyball A's of 2002 walked off the last three of their twenty straight wins!!

The Braves lost 5 straight following their winning steak, and late in the season, lost 19 of 21 games...barely reaching the post-season.

The Brewers lost 7-to-1, then won four straight.

FYI- Braves Country News: on this date in their first season in Atlanta, after loosing its first to games to the Pirates, the Braves did not play. However, that day was when Greg Maddux and David Justice debuted on this earth...so it wasn't a total washout. They won the following day.

Did not know Greg Maddux and David Justice were born on the same day . Keith Richards and frequent Rolling Stones saxophone player Bobby Keys were born on the same day, they discovered it when both were boarding a flight together.

It is insane that the Rays have a +71 run differential 13 games in. They are winning by an average of 5.5 runs per game.

Having played the Tigers, Nats, Athletics, and a weak Red Sox team, this upcoming series at Toronto might be their biggest test to date.

Incredible start by Tampa. I'm watching to see if the Rays can get to the all time record set by the 1884 St. Louis Maroons, who started with 20 straight wins.

The margin over their first 13 was 152-37!

...Steve Avery was born same date, four years later.

Two of my grand-nephews were born the same day (they're twins).

Default ...and, now, the day after...

We're reminded why Baseball players are so superstitious.

Now on a mini 2 game losing street and they lost one of their top starters for the next 2 months.

Injuries do not care about salaries and is it’s own balancing act

You know the old saying the about availability is a great asset

Well, I'd call McClanahan their best starter...

...and the (old) saying is actually, ' The greatest (or most important) ability is availability.'

I've always taken issue with that saying...I've been available for decades and still haven't landed that big league contract
