Ok you're forgiven for last week now

I wanted to get a Greenberg/Pirates card but the options are rather slim so I don't have a card of him yet. I do have a Laurin Pepper card though in my 56 Topps Pirates set!

Now that is a cool thing to try to collect! If you ever scan the others could you please post them. Good luck finding the rest.

Below are two photos of Hank taken in Lakeland, FL during ST sometime around 1940. They are from a scrapbook that I received from a gentleman who was a bellboy at the hotel in Lakeland where the Tigers stayed. Anyone care to guess who the gentleman is beside Hank wearing the suit?

If you are going to start a Greenberg thread I always have to post this beauty.

^^^ Never get tired of seeing that, Richard. Just awesome -- from the letterhead, to the heroic content, finishing off with the dual-signed envelope.

A shot in the dark, my guess would be his father.

The gentleman sitting next to Greenberg might be one of his two brothers, Ben or Joe.

Default and the answer is....

Harry Heilmann - at least that is the identification on the back of the photo. Heilmann was an announcer for the Tigers during that time.
