The suggestion to have another dealer vouch for you so someone you dont know will take your check or PayPal is also a good one. This is what I planned to do in Chicago last year.

I guy I work with had a couple of extra accounts he didn't know about. He only found out when he got a bill for late fees charged on unpaid monthly account management fees.
