Default OT: Congratulations Steve Blass

http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/09254/997300-100.stm

This will probably be appreciated by all the duffers on the board. The odds were 67 million to one. It should also be noted that the two holes in one were made on Arnold Palmer's 80th birthday Thursday. The Pirates celebrated Palmer's birthday Tuesday. I guess Blass picked up some pointers. Here is an old Buc-A-Day of Blass holding, appropriately enough, two golf clubs and the last line of the write up appropriately states, "Enjoys Golf":

I know virtually zero about golf, but it strikes me that this is INSANE.

And also this sentence: "Until Thursday, Blass had only one hole-in-one before in his life -- in 1996 at a course in Florida that is no longer in existence."

So he's had THREE?

I consider myself lucky if I can consistently get the fork into my own mouth, and he's had three holes-in-one?

About the same odds as the Pirates winning the Series anytime soon...

It's rumored that Blass' arm went dead immediately after the second hole-in-one.

Blass was one of the few players mentioned by name on the show Northern Exposure. Chris Stevens compares himself to Blass when he experiences a sudden lack of creativity.

I felt good for Steve Blass when I heard this....As an aside, he should have been the MVP of the '71 World Series
