To my knowledge there never were any. That throw to first would be almost impossible. Your body momentum is often heading the wrong way.

carefully?

I will be here all week. please tip your waitress, and please try the fish.

There have been a few others, I just cant think right now. I am 31 years old, but I feel like I am 99. Lefties, as you all probably know, play OF, 1b, or they pitch.

They rarely catch. I think Benny Distefano was the last to do it.

and for the record, when the pine tar game (royals vs yanks) resumed, Don mattingly was playing 2nd base.

HaL chase played some second base.

Bill Greenwood.

George Sisler even played some middle infield, as did Edd Roush and Jim Bottomley, but, they only played 1 or 2 games there each.

How is Brooklyn treating you tonight?
When I was 11 (grew up on Long Island),my neighbor owned a Tastee truck route and I used to go with him on his route all around Brooklyn. His parents lived about a seven minute walk from 59th street and the Brooklyn bridge!

I live walking distance from the Brooklyn Bridge. Great historic neighborhood, filled with 19th century brownstones, and a great center of early Brooklyn baseball. The Dodgers offices were on Montague Street, where I am almost every day, and The Brooklyn Excelsior clubhouse is on my street, Clinton. In fact Jim Creighton grew up around the corner from me. I've told this story many times, don't mean to be repetitive.

As far as left-handed catchers go please don't forget my hero Dale Long or for that matter Mike Squires.
