David I read those rules as well and took it for what it is.

Honestly, You might find it best to leave board administration issues over there and not worry about them here. This is no rip on you but I know I am tiring of all the garbage that is happening across the street and come here to get away from the childish behavior and blatant BS. Lets talk cards and not worry too much about how other boards run their business.

Again, I hope I am not stepping on your toes as I certainly don't mean to.

Feel free not only to step on them and run them over with a truck. Thats the great part about this forum! I wish I started here instead of over there. I look at what you guys collect and love what I see. My collection would be very different if I found this place first. I need to figure out how to transition out of what I have and into what you have!

David.....I am in complete agreement with you when it comes to the collectors on this forum. I have collected for the better part of 40 years and had bought and sold some great cards but I don't think I can hold a candle to many here. The pre-war (and post war) knowledge here is incredible. Not long ago there was a thread that was trying to piece together how an uncut sheet of T206's would look. There is some great conversations on here and some even better holders of amazing hobby information if one is willing to sit, listen and absorb and participate when you can contribute.

The transition will come to you! LOL

Oh, assuming there will be a Net54 National dinner this year (and assuming you can get to the National) I hear it is the not to be missed affair of the year! I hope to attend this year as I missed out on it the last few times.

I have a friend who collects T206's from 1909. I told him to join here too. Would that be a good place to get started? I need something to breathe life into the hobby for me soon or I am pretty much done. They sucked the life out of me on many levels across the street.

the "across the street" thing is getting annoying. if you go to nobu and yell the sushi is stale, what are they supposed to do? i fully support psa right to do whatever necessary to protect their product and image in their privately-run forums...no matter how crappy the image and product is (and imo they do a decent enough job).

David- just do what I did. Let it go. Spend 95% of your time here and just lurk "across the street." I promise your frustration will decrease and you'll see a renewed passion in the hobby. Plus there is still the right amount of drama over here.

Yes.
T206's are plentiful, pretty easy to sell if you change your mind, and there is enough info - just a search away - to keep you busy for months. Hop onto the monster number list and see how far you feel like climbing. Along the way you will discover and learn about many many many more prewar issues. Give it a year or so, take Andrews advice in post #4, and forget about slabs for a while.

Happy Collecting!
