Default New Member Introduction

Hi,

I'm Ben and live in Louisville, KY. I grew up in Bowling Green, KY(Home of the Corvette). I graduated from Univ. of Louisville with a B.A. in Mathematics in 2010.

I've been collecting for probably 20 years now. My father gifted me a 1954 Topps Willie Mays card for Christmas one year and that is where my love for card collecting began.

The way the vintage cards look, the history behind the players, and the era that the cards were produced in just amazes me.

I collect some modern stuff, but mostly vintage(T206s: Cy Young, Mordecai Brown, Nap Lajoie, Tris Speaker / 54 Topps Aaron, Banks, Kaline, Lasorda, Rizzuto / 41 Play Ball Ted Williams / 48 Leaf Ted Williams/ 57 Topps Unitas, 63 Topps Pete Rose) I would say that I am a semi high-end collector. I have been selling off many of the cards that I can live without to raise funds for a few AMAZING cards. I actually sold off my trumpet that I used in High School and College to help with getting some awesome cards.

I am a fan of the following: Univ. of Louisville, St. Louis Cardinals, Nashville Predators, Tennessee Titans, and the Golden State Warriors. I've been married to my lovely wife, Jena, for almost 2 happy years (3 weeks to go). We love to travel to Cancun and Puerto Vallarta.

I will talk my wife into going to the National next year.

Welcome Ben. My wife ( 41 years) is from Louisville and still a shareholder in H&B, so we have long had free entry to the Louisville Slugger Bat Museum. We live in San Antonio now but I grew up in St Louis and still follow the Cardinals.
