That was fun, maybe do again this spring/ summer
Crap. I meant 5:27 and 58 seconds! Oh well. So close but so far. Congrats to The winner and thanks again for the contest.

Thanks Dave. Much appreciated as a diversion from the bad decisions many collectors made in the other thread.

Now about that 530am time to close. How many of us over 50 yrs old stayed up? I love Al and the auctions but please close them earlier. Tell people it's going to close at 3am on that night....close it at 315 and be done with it....just a suggestion..... The older I get the less I like all night auctions.....but I do understand. I fell out at around 1am or so CST......

I placed my bets and went to sleep at midnight. No way I am sitting up hitting the refresh button all night. And a little surprised there weren't more emails about imminent closing, etc.
Having said that, I am very happy with the pieces I got, and it feels nice having dealt with what everyone says is one of the good guys. The slime surrounding this industry as a whole is starting to get to me.

I kept setting my phone alarm. Admittedly it was painful .
At 315 CST I finally just put in a max bid ( which held up well below it) and called it s night. While NOT a lot my lot closing guy...ill admit I like my sleep

Any thoughts on whether LOTG and Goldin ending same night had any effect on hammer prices?
What time did Goldin close? I didn't follow them

Default Twitchell GQ

It was tough for me to stay up until closing, I placed max bid at 4:17am (Eastern) at several increments above my leading bid and lost it at 5:08am. I just wasn't meant to have that Twitchell GQ (wasn't first time - I was high underbidder in Feb. 2003 on eBay). Maybe next time.

Their sgc50/4 Mantle #311 sold for 54,900
They had some nice t206 Cobbs i was looking at.
Despite some 'altered' pieces, they still got good money.
Big ticket items i saw was the Cobb Tin for 10,370
and the large lot of t206s (333) get 24,400
and the Clemente RC psa8 getting 58,560 WOW!!!!

Cool contest and congrats to Johnny! I was in the poker room until about 6am and had time to follow all of this. After 5 hours of no bids on my lots, someone tried to throw a bid in at 4am-ish. Luckily I was still wide awake. I managed to win half a Joe Tinker autograph for $200 and the Art Fletcher sweater endorsement for $150. Great great great auction!
