Default Wondering what everyone thinks of 1936 World Wide??

I really like the potential of the 1936 World Wide Gum set issued out of Canada. It has some really nice cards like the Dimaggio, Gehrig and Foxx. I know that is really hard to find high grade cards for the set so some hate to settle for the 4 or 5 grade cards. At the National last year I purchased a nice ungraded Greenberg,Billy Rogell and Crosetti. Any thoughts or great finds from this set???

I collect the HOFers out of the set. I like they fact that they are B&W and use photos not commonly used in a lot of other sets.

You are right, most you see are VG or worse.

Edit to add: There are some hideous looking cards of players in street/dress clothes though!

Default 1936 World Wide Gum

We havecollected examples from this set for more than 25 years.

This is a set where condition really makes a difference.

We have 1 PSA7, 2SGC 84 and 2 PSA6 examples.

One of our favorite cards in this set, and in our collection, is the SGC 84
of Yankee HOF Manager Joe McCarthy. We won this card on E bay for less
than 1/4 of of our reserved bid.

A great card, and a wonderful set
