Default Images of cards rarely seen!

You know a card is truly rare when you can't find an image of it online.

I recently was reviewing the checklist for the 1912 zeenut set, and I realized there were 3 cards of players, who were catchers, which I don't recall ever seeing an image of anywhere.

Clarence Brooks (LA)
Ralph Kreitz
John L. Sullivan

Anyone have images of any of these players?

Lets see lists of other cards that fit this criteria.

Patrick

D303 Mothers' Bread -- Rube Bressler and Nap Lajoie

I think Bressler exists, but I'm not completely convinced that Lajoie does.

Here's a thread I ping periodically:

Great idea for a thread, as a self admitted rare card collector with rabbit hole issues I look forward to the member posts.

Not sure if this is evidence or its just a mismatched front and back: https://www.tcdb.com/ViewCard.cfm/sid/215880/cid/13682415/1916-Mother's-Bread-(D303)-NNO-Nap-Lajoie

This Kalamazoo Bats of Mets player Al Mays is one of three known per REA. They say fewer than 10 Mets K Bats have ever been found.

Thanks -- I'm pretty sure that's just mismatched fronts/backs. I appreciate you checking though!

I've always wondered what the Kid Madden leaning against a rock Old Judge looked like. I assume not nearly as exciting as I'm picturing it.

Here are a couple items not rarely seen -- a Harpers Whiskey Wagner and an E92(ish) Wagner with an incorrect Menagerie back, made even more rare with a sideways view (feel free to please correct).

Not mine, but the card has been on my wantlist. It's somewhat tough, but I've seen about 7-8 copies of it throughout the years. One was vastly overpriced on Ebay for years

Fantastic Wagner's Ryan. Love that Menagerie back

Wagner prices sure seem to be on the move this year.

Default B18 Steve O'Neill (Red Pennants)

For years SCD's Big Book has listed a Steve O'Neill B18 (Red Pennant) as 62B.

i have never see one of these either.

A prominant auction company listed one in a lot of B14s years ago. I emailed them for an image, and my email was ignored.

Would love to see this variation as well.

Patrick

I don't collect pre-war, so I can't compete with y'all strictly in terms of rarity. But this is pretty darn rare for post-war. 11 total copies graded, across PSA and SGC.

I still have no idea who issued this Dominican Winter League card but both Willie McCovey and Juan Marichal played in the league the same season and may even have pre-rookie cards of their own:

You don't get to see a card with this much front damage normally.

The complete set of these Wheaties-sponsored Jack Armstrong Radio Program premiums is just 8 ; five hot-name baseball players , two midwest football heroes , and Patty Berg , one of the best all-around female athletes of that pre-war era ( she really was ). 1940 or 1941 is an educated guess --- I've been looking for a mailing envelope for many years.

I have only seen a picture of this card from the Metropolitan Mueseum of Art, which is Type 1 of the "0" numbered cards which is the top picture. The Type 2 "0" numbered series is mine. I don't remember seeing at least one of these for sale recently.

Don't see this card very often. It's not mine, but I randomly have an image of it saved. It's an unaltered black and white e93 Cobb. Sorry for the blurry image, it's the only image I have ever seen of this card.

Not too exciting but this is from the BST recently. I haven't seen too many B18s with this kind of overspray. I always like weird stuff LOL....

If you're looking for something truly rare, I have a photo somewhere around here from back when my collection was well organized. I can't find it.
