Default 1950s type card thread

I posted this scan in the Meadowgold thread as a lure for Leon to get interested in post war type cards. I thought I would post it again and start a 1950s type card thread. The 50s were great for regionals. Show what you have.

Brecheen=1951 Fischer Bread Label
Alexander=1951 Topps Connie Mack All-Stars
Slaughter=1950 Drakes
Musial=1956 Rawlings Glove Box
Boyer=1957 Swift Meats
Munger=1949 Schumacher Service Station
Slaughter=1952 Tip Top Bread Label
Chambers/Westlake=1952 Star*Cal Decals

Phil, very nice Weaver. I've seen a few from that Winston-Salem set through the years, may have all come from the same set.

Jeff, nice Schoendienst, I've never noticed the perforation marks on the Dan-Dees before. I checked mine and I have one little "point". Do you know how they were issued? Were they detached from something?

Randy,
I can't answer your question for certain. I assumed they may have been issued in two card panels like the Topps Red Backs and attached to each other. Here's another '50's Regional Cardinal. Lower grade due to the ink on the front.

Just realized that my 50's type cards are semi-limited.. Probably got a few other types. Nothing overly rare though.. Just don't have scans at the moment.

1953-55 Artvue HOF Type 1-Tom Connolly
1955 Golden Stamp Dodgers-Sandy Koufax
1959 Cardinals Team Issue PC-Bob Gibson(type 2)

Randy, great cards. Apart from the Tip Top Bread Labels and Star Cal decal, what are they? Never seen several of those before. My only 50s type cards are a 51 Wheaties and a Red Heart Dog Food. I have to get a bit more adventurous at some point.

Thanks for labeling them. Your collection is amazing. I always love seeing something new.

Attached are pictures of a couple of my cards. The 51 Wheaties is a personal favorite followed by the Read Heart Dog Food. I have a little puppy living in my house, so that one was a bit of a special addition.

Best, nice Mantle's. That B&W Wheaties is quite rare.

Thanks for sharing everybody. This is a great thread. When I started collecting vintage cards in the mid-1970s, 50s regionals were more desirable than tobacco cards. How can you resist, Leon?

Zach,

I believe those are Mother's Cookies PCL cards. Not sure of the year though, maybe 52 or 53.

Someone else can confirm, but I'm pretty sure that's what they are.

Thanks,

AndyH

I don't have much to add (and this is technically a 1949 card) but my Remar Billy Martin is one of my favorites.

Thanks,

AndyH
