Default Legit Rose RC?

Looks legit to me but I can’t actually hold the card. It has some fish eyes at the top. Thoughts?

Comparing it to this original, the colors look off and the faces aren't distinct. Can't say for sure, but I would be cautious.

The colors definitely look off to me too. They could just be faded, but I'm not sure. The black border looks odd too, it's not black and solid like the real one. I too would be cautious on this one.

Think I’ll avoid this one. Thanks for the feedback. The card looks too clean to be real but some of the print marks gave me hope.

I never would buy this card ungraded by PSA. Just way to many fakes out there, If I had to buy ungraded, I would buy one o/c 80/20 as fakes would probably be 60/40 or better.

It's possible that the colors are being lightened/brightened as a result of the camera (or photoshop) itself, but at first glance that card just doesn't look legitimate to me either. The colors, the overly white, crisp borders, etc., are big Reds (pun intended) flags.

Spelling "Yastrzemski" correctly without needing to look it up since the 1980s.

The card looks too good to be true, imo, but I am curious on the centering being off? I assume fakes, as the scammers have likely learned, aren't usually OC like this one.

It definitely is a brighter than normal scan/pic so that might attribute to its to good to be true appearance, but I'm not the guy to make the call one way or another.

I gotta ask, is this something (if it was actually legit) that you could get at a great price? Or does the asking price line up with what you 'should' pay? Because, as knowledgeable as everyone is here, there is a chance we are wrong. Perhaps you should consider working out a strict, confirmed return policy option with the seller, in case you think it's worth a shot. Certainly something to think about.

Personally I don't like that the black border goes all the way to the blue at the top of the card. It actually touches the blue section. I looked at several real examples online just now and they all have a break before the black lines touch the blue. That leads me to believe this is a counterfeit.

Good catch, but here's one graded by SGC that also goes to the blue. Not conclusive as they might have mistakenly graded this one, or the flip has been compromised, but, you're right, most black lines stop just before the blue.

Here's a listed reprint that is OC as well that clearly shows the black lines touching the blue.

Hi Dale,

I saw a PSA 5.5 that also had the black lines touching the blue, but I believe these are all fakes that got past the graders. If I was in the market for one I'd want one with the break before the blue. That seems to be to most common shared characteristic on the truly authentic ones. There are so many fakes of this card that I can easily see PSA and SGC grading some of the fakes in error.

This one just isn't that sharp, although the image is a terrible one as well. But it has a fake look to it in my opinion.

Andy
