Any newspaper collectors in the Net community.

I know some have value...while others hold very little to none. Just think they are really neat...and make great displays.

Here is my framed set of original 1955 Dodger WS papers. More to follow...would love to see what others may have.

That’s cool, Moe! I’m assuming a better grade example is pretty tough?

Yep, I've only seen 2. This one and yes one that was in better shape, but that one too had some minor issues went for a grand in 2011 at Heritage.

I'm surprised more have not popped up, but they just don't for whatever reason.

Here's my other one:

I'm from a family of newspaper photographers, so I love old newspapers!

I think it logically follows that after the rise in popularity of type 1 photos, old newspapers should also go up in value. There is, I think, an artistic quality to the layout of a front page.

I love the old newspapers, and they fit perfectly into my Boston collection as great period pieces. Here are a few of mine with nice Boston headlines, plus a Boston paper with a Black Sox story and a couple of Titanic headlines as well...

Wow!!!! All truly awesome pieces.

Given the scarcity of these old papers...since most were thrown away, I ageee that there should absolutely be a market value. They are fascinating and make really great displays.

Keep um coming.

The Babe Signs 1 year contract for $75K - March 16, 1932. At the time Ruth was the highest paid player in the history of baseball. Also, his salary was the same as the president of the U.S. whose salary was also $75K. Ruth actually took a $5K cut from his asking salary of $80K. It was estimated at the time that Ruth had been paid more than $750K as a baseball player.

I'm new to this group and and already enjoying all the posts and photos!!

I have been collecting vintage Baseball paper (Newspapers and vintage Magazine Ads pre 1950) items for about 20 years now and find them really enjoyable and educational.

The collectable market for these types of items has increased as has the prices in the last year or so. The Ruth items probably are the most popular right now and for items in better condition you will find stiff competition on ebay.

As of this time I have about 25 of my top pieces framed and ready to grace the walls of one of my bedrooms!! I will post a couple of photos of my favorites in the next couple of days.

Love all those old papers shown above. Fragile and rare to survive the test of time. Very under valued (for now) IMO, like postcards were 10 years ago. Here is some more eye candy!

Always enjoy the historical look and feel of these old newspapers. Also, these papers can be used as great companion items and really enhance the original piece be it a card, photo, ticket etc.

Those are nice.

I have 164 of those composite issues, but they are in bound volumes so hard to scan.

Wow! This went for $305 dollars on eBay last night. I REALLY wanted it, but I never thought it would go anywhere near $300. Does this price seem a little crazy or pretty much in line with other similar newspapers? (It was the whole paper and not just the front page)
