Default Crazy price on T206 Southern Leage card

Posted By: Dave

This happened last month on 1 or 2 SL cards. This seem really outrageous.

Default Crazy price on T206 Southern Leage card

That is a crazy price (no offense to jacoboliver if he/she reads the posts here), but it is also one of the nicest "5s" I've ever seen. Should be at least a 6, maybe a 7. Maybe this person will try to regrade it, either with PSA or somewhere else.

Jacoboliver and T206kid obviously have similar tastes and deep pockets. At this rate, I'll never complete a collection of Southern Leaguers in PSA 5. I would expect to pay less than half that price.

Default Crazy price on T206 Southern Leage card

The guy has dropped about 5,000 dollars in purchases in the month of August. You figure at some point these people will run out of money but they don't. Similar to the dot com crash, eventually there wont be someone to sell those PSA 5 goudey commons for $400-$500 or the Southern leaguers for $600 to in order break even. Probably a separate topic but at some point, there needs to be a reality check on these prices. This card has gone up as much as Microsoft since relatively the same time period. In 1979, this is a 3.00 card.

What amazes me is that they pay those prices and you wonder if they ever look at the card. The Jablonski sure has some soft corners for a 6. The Bay does look pretty awesome though.

What a perversion of reality (otherwise known as graded card syndrome) some 'collectors' have been sucked into--this same ungraded Goudey card gets maybe $40.00-$50.00 (just a guess--I concentrate on lower condition cards that would fit nicely in that other thread).
