It's a simple fact: eBay LOVES Battlefield0516
Battlefield0516 makes eBay lots and lots of money
Battlefield0516 sells garbage and uses altered images
Battlefield0516 makes eBay lots and lots of money
eBay doesn't care about what she does to everyone
Battlefield0516 makes eBay lots and lots of money
eBay removes negative feedback so you can't see what a scammer she is
Battlefield0516 makes eBay lots and lots of money
eBay lets her still sell even though she lies and cheats customers
Battlefield0516 makes eBay lots and lots of money
eBay receives hundreds of complaints about Battlefield0516 every month
Battlefield0516 makes eBay lots and lots of money
The biggest scammer on eBay is Battlefield0516 and DOES EBAY CARE?
Battlefield0516 makes eBay lots and lots of money

MAYBE YOU CAN FIGURE OUT A RECURRING THEME HERE

Bottom line: eBay cares about $$$$$$$ and that's it - period.

Okay, we all know she photoshops her cards. If this is the best she can do with this cards - what do you think it looks like in real life?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/132047875225...MakeTrack=true

I'm almost tempted to buy it just to see how bad it truly is. Almost.

Cheers,
Patrick

Ps - the description is priceless "This card is in nice condition for its age! It is 100% authentic & unaltered! This card has light to moderate corner wear, near perfect centering, beautiful color, good eye appeal, several creases, and some staining, paper loss, and pen marks on the front & back of the card. There are no pinholes or any damage of that kind."

Umm ... pen marks make it altered, right? And good eye appeal with "several creases and some staining, paper loss and pen marks on front & back"? At least there are "no pinholes or any damage of that kind."

Ebay should have a per listing fee for the use of adjectives and exclamation marks.

Just read a few of her neutral and negative feedback, which has increased, btw, and noticed in a couple where E-Bay had to get involved.

I don't read her reviews diligently by any stretch, but I don't recall reading these before where E-Bay got involved? Hopefully, which is likely wishful thinking, this is the start of the end for her!

Their feedback rating is 97.7%. I think if a seller falls below 98% the ebay seller fee discounts go away. So, the negatives probably are hurting them to some degree.

Yeap, I think the fees go up, or discounts go down, with bad feedback. These people will get their just dues. Karma is a MO- FO ....

It may be worth noting that this is the user account that the Young card was bought under from PWCC:

http://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.d..._None_ViewLink

It is not the same account that they sell under and I wanted to post it before the listing is removed.

I wonder if this user has inflated any of their auction prices.

I just checked the comments and it appears as though someone is recommending calling the police in their location. Do you think local law enforcement has any ability to do something about the problem?

I believe someone that this seller defrauds has a chance of getting their own law enforcement involved as, generally speaking, it is local law enforcement that is supposed to protect you. We can only hope so. I have spoken with authorities about them but I am not a victim and the authorities I spoke with aren't the perfect ones to help.....

I was just going to post that. I also noticed her % went down again. Hopefully those that phone the police have good luck.

If I'm not mistaken, investigating a criminal act such as fraudulently representing an item for sale in eBay, would involve federal criminal code (interstate commerce), and would therefore be the jurisdiction of the FBI or another federal LE agency. Local LE might be the right place to start, though, as they would be able to make the necessary notifications.

Isn't it a shame that we talk about local law enforcement getting involved, the FBI, other federal protection agencies, etc. - and the one entity it should start with - eBay - doesn't do a damn thing about it.

Eventually they might but this seller also sells a lot so ebay probably doesn't want to lose the revenue.

I believe that they chalk it up to margin of error. "The seller has a 98.5 percent satisfaction rate, and the 1.5 percent that are not satisfied ave issues which are generally solved quickly and without a hassle from the seller, so there isn't any point in looking to see if some of these negative claims are actually happening. With high volume there are always going to be some people that are not satisfied."

It just happens to be all of the high dollar cards.

In speaking with some other people, it appears that the seller claims that the description is accurate. For instance, a card may have a crease. The image does not show the crease, but the description says "light creasing" so there is no harm done. The description was accurate.

Now the buyer looks at the image which almost always does more justice than a description and thinks "OK. Light creasing. I can't see the crease. Man this is a nice card. I think I will buy it."

Marrying two threads together, since PWCC seems to have some influence with Ebay, and claims to be a conduit, perhaps they can assist in ridding Ebay of this person or at least getting an official response to the problem that can be shared?

It appears that now they are at least putting in their auction description that their cards may be trimmed. Finally, they are waking up to the reality that a full court press about their illegal actions may have repercussions.

Default Con artist that Ebay is well aware of

I purchased two t206 cards as nm+-mt

I sent both into psa and both came back as trimmed.
She never responded to my messages and took almost 2 months for Ebay to refund me. I was never refunded the money to have them graded. A couple weeks later she re listed the same 2 cards I bought again as nm+-mt and sold them to the next guy

Please read the bold letters at the top of each page that says if you give an opinion your full name needs to be in your post. After this one please make sure you adhere to it (as everyone should). Since it's just battlefield we can turn a blind eye on this one . They deserve to be piled on.

One could argue he offered no opinions.

He is making accusations. I won't get into semantecs and if I need to I just go to our rules page and pull this puppy off of there, which has been posted for years...

Same rules for everyone in this respect. All board members, and others, should get to know who is saying something about them when it is said on this chat board, imo.

So what does this all mean pertaining Probstein (AKA Mr. Big)? It seems like we have been singing this song for quite a while, but I would love to hear a fresh perspective...How has he wiped out 100's of negative feed backs and got away with it?

No worries, in all of the years the rule has been there it has probably been invoked 1-2x. It just has to be there, trust me .

Just scrolling through E-Bay looking at 52 Topps cards and I notice, none other, than battle-hatchet with a new pile of them.
Of course, everyone looks to be in gem-mint 10 condition so I decide to write her this.
Not sure if I'll get a reply, but I am hoping so, just so I can read it and share it here.

Dear battlefield0516,

Based on your feedback, can you please send me the real pics/scans of this card.
I don't want to purchase it only to find out, like so many others of yours, that your pic has been doctored.

Thanks for your understanding.

I keep wondering where her "wonderful" raw cards come from, unsuspecting old-time collectors enticed by her high offers, or more likely possibly buying Authentic graded cards, breaking them out them and then putting them up for auction with mucho hyperbole and possibly 'photo shopped as well. She is clearly a volume dealer and Ebay obviously appreciates that.

Plus the fact that it might be naïve to think she doesn't read this thread.

Me too, but I thought with it being Sunday and all, and with her being the Angelic type we have all grown to love, I thought maybe she'd bestow a reply upon me?

Well, it is slightly off-centered, so it's probably like an 8.5.

No reply yet, but as was mentioned in a PM, there is a good chance I am now blocked?
It will be tough sleeping tonight, for sure!

I don't know the first thing about photoshopping, or how hard it is to do, but I will give her that. She is definitely good at it.

Photoshop is a piece of cake! You just scan the cards, set the photoshop dial to "PSA-10", and you're good to go!

Of course, unless you're at a 10 and want to give it that little extra gloss. Then set it to 11.

I think you are correct, in that since these are internet type crimes, they can have a federal jurisdiction. But local law enforcement is the place to start (and usually finish) with this type of crime. My only hope is that Battlefield is so pervasive the Feds would take a look. For them to get really involved there needs to be something worth their time, quite honestly. Generally a smaller ebay seller won't meet the FBI threshold for taking a case, from my informal, layperson understanding. And only 203 current chances at fraud here

Local LE might be the right place to start, though, as they would be able to make the necessary notifications.
