Default West Coast Babe

Here are a few things from Babe's West Coast barnstorming, and a signed and notated Texas League ball from a 1930 exhibition game in Dallas.

Default Babe Ruth

How many of you would ever guess that Babe Ruth was one of the first super athletes to undertake a rigorous physical training program ?

In 1925, Ruth's weight had peaked up to 245 lbs. And it was one of his worst seasons. That December he took the advice of a well-known
NYC trainer (Artie McGovern). Ruth's weight at the start of the 1926 season was 205 lbs. Ruth continued this training regime through out
most of the rest of his BB career. This really paid off for the Babe, as evidenced from his great performance in his following years (1926 -
1935). If you do the math you'll be surprised to find out that his hitting stats in these latter years were all-around better than his previous
11 years (1914 - 1925).
