Default t206 EPG Value Opinions Please

Posted By: James Gallo

Ok all so since I am getting into the t206 area I was going after a group recently and got killed.

So I want to know if I was way off in value or they just went over market.

Lets assume none of the cards were trimmed or altered and all would grade with a letter grade. Below is the list and info.

All the below have EPG backs

Taylor Buffalo Good
Gilbert St. Louis Nat Poor back damage
Cicotte VG
Dunn Baltimore VG
Ewing Cinn Fair
Chase One of the Throwing poses Fair
Hoffman Providance Good

Street Port Washington Good with Piedmont Back

So what is this group worth. I know that most people dont' have many EPG backs, but is also seemed that people were not willing to pay a premium for this back.

Thoughts please.

Thanks

James Gallo

James, I was tracking that auction also. I just figured that there must have been some valuable Bowman card in that lot to make two people go bid crazy. It was a live auction bidder who took down the auction.

Morphy surprised me. They're very reputable and have a great name with toys and the like. I asked for large front and back scans and they replied that they couldn't do it. This was last week, not a last minute thing.

They couldn't help me, so i couldn't bid. Wouldn't have mattered anyway given what the lot went for.

Man I would take those cards at those prices

You wouldn't belive how crappie the cards were handled. Nothing was in penny sleeves even except some of the almost worthless 1959 Ted Williams.

The Bowman's aren't worth much so it wasn't them that ran up the price.
The Mecca's were trashed and all commons.

I figured with the tougher back they would be decent. Anyone got any VG Cicottes for under $100 PLMK

James,
Maybe I'm a little low on the Taylor and Cicotte.
But I would sell you a VG Cicotte for sub-$100--if I had one!
