...I wonder if he tests all of his containers in his home this thoroughly - must drive his wife nuts with all the useless trips to Home Depot.

THANK YOU FOR THE LINK!!!!

I don't think this guy is crazy, in fact, I think we must invite him to join the chat on friday....

This guy's kid must have anthrax in his feet, please look at the sock!
That's why the card got damaged, not because of the dryer effect!

I would like to read Leon's comments after testing the SGC holder with the Four Base Hits Kelly in the nearest Home Depot... Another nice topic for friday's chat...

Elliot, Thanks again for the link, it's the first time my wife enjoyed reading stuff about baseball cards.
Now she wants to test my cards in our dryer without holders! damnnn....

There was an annoying guy on the CU board talking about how bad PSA holders are in relation to BGS holders. I wanted to prove him wrong so I did the Home Depot experiment. The Home Depot experiment required a lot of energy and effort because I had to leave my house, use the car, remember duct tape, and try to get someone to let me use their equipment for weird purposes.

I realized later that the Home Depot experiment wasn't quite right, and that I really needed to use the dryer. That experiment was easy by comparison, since I just had to figure out how the dryer worked and find a sock.

The sock was just the first sock I found that was anywhere near the dryer. I don't even know whose sock it is. Clearly it's a kid's sock, but there are any number of kids here. I think it got dirty from being used to walk on the floor, which would make sense since it's my job to clean the floor and I'm kind of lazy about that as I'd rather spend my time off at Home Depot, shaking cards.

I'm surprised that nobody has done this before. I think I showed that the cards are prone to wear on the edges near the ends of the rails, if you bash the slabs around two thousand times. I bet an SGC slab would have the same problem, but a BGS slab wouldn't. Of course, the BGS card would probably have a wrinkle on the back, with no grading guarantee, so that offsets the extra security.

Sometimes I put a card in my coat pocket and take off. I've been under the assumption that the rattling won't kill it, but this seems to be false, so I'm going to stop doing that.

I do have too much time on my hands, but this is an experiment that someone needed to do, so consider my time as a contribution to the graded card community.

I am accepting donations to offset the cost of the card I wrecked.

I was surprised that the card got wrecked. I thought about not reporting my results, but I figured that if I was going to report the results if they proved my point, I should report them if they disproved it.
