Default Amazing Price on Hage's Dairy Vaughan

I guess I wasn't the only guy who was looking for this card for decades. Looks like two people wanted it a whole lot more than me.

What's the back story on this card?

Hage's Dairy cards are rare, and there are very few stars in the set, with Arky Vaughan being one of them. I've always wanted the card, but never expected it to go for this much.

Mark Macrae once told me (and that was one of the reasons I never listed these in the Beckett Almanac) that there were a couple of really intense collectors who chased this set. If neither of them had the card -- could go for hundreds of dollars, if only one had the card -- hundred or so, and if they all had the card -- the patient collector could pick up the card for less than $50.

Now tell me the real values of these cards if you were in my shoes

Rich

Holy crap! I was watching that one too but dropped it off the list before it skyrocketed.

You never can tell with rare regionals. That's what makes them so much fun to play with.
