Default PWCC and Doctored Cards

I left a message on the PSA forum that was immediately deleted. PWCC is currently selling a PSA 10 1972 Pro Star Tim Foli card. This card was originally sold by Four Sharp Corners and had obvious bubbling defects which put a 10 grade into serious question. The card sat for a couple of years. Now the card comes back better than ever in the PWCC auction. There is no question that either the card was switched or the bubbling was altered.

Possibly just hidden by the scan. If it's the same cert number the holder hasn't been opened, no?

The card is not even placed in the holder the same way if you look at the top.

If it's the same cert, it hasn't been opened, nobody is going to crack out a 10 to make a nicer 10.

Years ago there loads of posts about PWCC doctoring scans. Perhaps a scan issue?

I can't see how the cert would be the same and the card is in the newer holder too.

Very odd.

It's the scan. Sometimes stuff doesn't show up depending on the settings. Old Judge showed a Goudey Ruth where the wrinkles were obscured. Not necessarily intentional.

This is the saddest claim so far. It's the same holder.

Maybe it was gremlins in the scanner. I told you not to feed it after midnight.

It's also entirely possible that a photo editor was used. On Windows 10 you can click on a JPG photo and a photo editing program will come up and there is a Spot Fix feature that will eliminate those blemishes. I can't say if that was the case in this situation.

They bought a PSA 10 to alter it to a PSA 11. It ain't rocket science folks.

Look at the 2 PSA certs. They are not the same. I see they have the same number, but are different certs.

This could be an example of a player who is worth less than his card.

No wonder the suicide rate is increasing.

You can even see spots on the edges of the holder that indicate the card is in the exact same case. And as has been mentioned the identical cert numbers. You guys are really reaching to keep this scandal going.

mostly people with time on their hands, and little vested interest in the high end cards, or cards from PWCC! It affects the whole hobby, I get it, but seriously...

The scandal is going to keep going, but I have no clue what this card has to do with it. One of the stranger threads I have seen.

Could have just been random chance that the PWCC image obscured the wrinkles.
