This one is a bit difficult. My first impression is that it's good, but the "a" seems atypical. The blur also makes it difficult to see the connection between the "R" and "u"... and tough to differentiate between blurring and/or fading.

Hi Matt,

I hope you don't mind, but I rotated the photo to make it easier for people to weigh in.

This is a tough one. Although I usually don't hesitate to commit one way or the other (regardless of accuracy , I'm hesitant on this. The personal inscription notwithstanding, there are a few areas that cause me some concern. Some of the atypical features appear to be the break in "Sincerely", the "a", as well as the end of the "h" (not sure if that's a slow stop, a flaw in the paper, etc)

Wish I could be of more help.

Not sure why others are slow to weigh in on this one.

There have been so many variations of "Babe Ruth" signatures authenticated by TPAs, who knows what is real anymore.

There are several things about it that I don't like. It could very well be good, but I wouldn't buy it.

I think most people aren't offering a solid opinion because this is a very atypical Ruth autograph. Most of the letters are generally spot on but there are also a bunch of inconsistencies. Mostly what was already stated. I personally don't like the "G". For someone who wrote "GH Ruth" thousands of times, this "G" is certainly a bit different. I'm certainly no expert but I feel that I'm pretty solid on Ruth. I wouldn't buy it, but wouldn't be surprised if it was found to be authentic.

I certainly appreciate all of the info and opinions. I agree strongly with you guys. Some spots look good, some look off. It was supposedly signed for a bar owner, maybe Babe was drunk.

As has been stated, it looks good in many ways but the "G" looks drawn and is not consistent with his usual "G" as in his formal signature. Possibly the "Gyp" was added later?
