Default RIP: Gene Michael: HOF Executive?

I don't know how to set up a poll, but this could be a good one.

What's your opinion of 'the Stick'?

Is he worthy or does Torre get all the credit for that period of Yankee Glory?

If you "set up a pole," he might seek retribution. But if you set up a poll, probably not. But, to answer your query, I don't think he's HOF worthy. He just got the bods; Torre put it all together.

David- Thanks for the correction.

IMO, it took a lot to keep 'the core four' together while Steinbrenner trying to micro-manage everything.

At one point, Michael was told to contact every other team and shop Bernie Williams.

Michael called EVERY other team and had lengthy discussions, but was sure to not mention Williams at all.

He reported back that he had contacted everyone, but there were no inquiries.

That took balls!

He might not deserve it, but he deserves serious consideration.
