I got that email too. First thing that came to mind was the PSA 8 T206 Wagner.

The 1869 Cincinnati Reds sale of their trophy balls, equipment and uniforms after their World Tour would probably disagree with the above statement

Stuff has sold for more than the Wagner. There was a Ruth jersey as I recall in SCP Auctions. Also Naismith's original rules. I would guess it's the Ruth jersey.

I doubt there would ever be a general consensus among collectors what the most historical piece of sports memorabilia piece is.

Maybe they're selling the New York Yankees franchise?

My guess is that the Player's League documents coming up in the fall Memory Lane auction are more significant.
