Lots of new members. Any ticket collectors out there?
The newest addition to my ticket collection is this very clean example. 1941GehrigStub.jpg 1941GehrigStubVerso.jpg |

While not exactly "vintage" by this forums standards, here are the few I have. I was friends with former major league player Carl Willey, so I collect items related to him.
He pitched in game 5 of the 1958 World Series against the Yanks. Here is a proof ticket from that game. This is a guest pass from the same game. And here is a picture of Carlton on the mound during the 8th inning during game 5. I love all the other tickets and photos posted in this thread, most of them I have never seen before. Thanks for sharing everyone. |

Move over, Babe...here comes Henry. Hank Aaron clouts #714 in Cincinnati on Opening Day in 1974.
Ted Williams returns to baseball to manage the Washington Senators on Opening Day 1969. Bobby Murcer homers as Mel Stottlemeyre goes the distance for an 8-4 Yankee win. The Athletics play their final games in Kansas City before only 5,325 fans, sweeping the White Sox in a doubleheader. Those would be the final victories for the franchise. Catfish Hunter wins the finale. |

I was at that WS game; only one I ever got to go see in person. So far. Though living in L.A. it is a pretty safe bet that I am in no danger of seeing another WS game in person any time soon

Here are my three favorite. While Army has been on the losing side of the Notre Dame rivalry, Ive always respected the matchup.
- The 1928 stub is the famous "Win one for the Gipper" Game. (I still feel my stub should have come back a PSA 4) - The 1930 full is from Rockne's last season and last game against Army. - The 1946 full is one of the first "Game of the Century" games with #1 vs #2. Army was National Champions that year, dont tell me otherwise.

Long time reader, first time poster.
This thread is amazing, to say the least! I've been a Mets fan since 1968 and am an active '69 Mets collector. Here are some of my favorite tickets/stubs: Game 5 stub from the 1969 World Series. I was at this game as a 9 year old Mets fan and even ran the bases after the last out. Game three of their sweep of the Braves in '69 that took them to the series. Full ticket and stub from the game where the Mets clinched the pennant in 1969. This was, at one time, the highest attended game in their history so I really don't think there are too many of the full tickets out there. The condition of the full ticket was not a consideration due to the rarity and significance in Mets history. Last edited by 69MetsFan; 02-06-2016 at 06:29 PM. |
