Got this in the mail yesterday. No wrinkles or creases and a pretty nice image.
Other than the Mays, I suddenly have all the money cards in this set (not planned). I guess finishing this set along with '65 will officially be my immediate goals. Thanks for always sharing all of the stuff I see on this board!

Been wanting to add a Paige card to the mix. I just cannot figure out why it's a 3. No creases or wrinkles anywhere. And those are print spots on his bill, not paper loss, so it just doesn't compute.

Solid looking Satch for PSA 3. Nice pickup. That certainly would look right at home in a PSA 4 or 5.

Thanks guys. I still can't find any wrinkles. A 4-5 shouldn't be out of the question. Regardless, I'm pleased with it in any grade.

Default Managers' Dream - Mantle and Mays

Been wanting this one for a while. Not perfect, but good centering - scan is a bit blurry.

These came in today

solid 2 ... a downgrade from my previous example. Slight surface wrinkle which is barely noticeable actually

cheap and easy addition to the collection

Today, in the south part of Jacksonville, a "card show" inside a "card shop"? I attended this event a couple of months ago, and it was OK. But today I was holding a $25 gift card to "Cheesecake Factory", so I made the drive!

The owner of the card shop had recently purchased a collection of mostly EX-MT 1960s Topps cards, (some gorgeous cards) with a few off grade cards mixed in. So I thumbed through the cards and picked out the lower grade stuff, but also picked out an interesting advertising card T.C.G. from 1959 which I had never seen before.

In addition to this advertising card I picked out these baseball cards, 2 1952 Topps, 1 1953 Topps, 2 1954 Bowman, 6 1954 Topps, 2 1955 Bowman (Zimmer), 1957 Topps NY Giants team card, and two 1959 Topps team cards. But what I really wanted was that advertising card. Dealer asked for $30 and I countered with $25, which he took which included the advertising card pictured below.

There is one similar listed right now on eBay "1959 Bazooka Bloney Pennant" add insert card listed at $69.99 OBO. Interesting that the eBay card notes the "typical slit on the side" and the card I bought today also has this slit but on the opposite side of the card. Does anyone have any additional info on this card? It's slightly smaller than a regular 1959 Topps baseball card and it's paper thin.
Thanks in advance.
Larry

Down to 61 cards needed for the 61 Topps set...the end is near...

Tough card, got it for a great price (surprised I won, for you set collectors looking for hi numbers, I got this for 13.50). A little rough for my set but I'll take it. Cerv pops up in a lot of the Mantle books I have read, classic card..

Have always wanted this card for a long time being a Giants fan but never seemed to pull the trigger. Tough to find a nice centered example with nice registration and no print lines. Very excited to add this to my collection...

Nice card, Ray!

I was lucky enough to get one from a local card shop (in my net 54 sig) along with some other cards. I was lucky the dealer only deals in hockey or I might have paid a lot more for the lot.

Got these the other night from another E-Bay auction. They are raw and somewhat rough, but they were affordable and I needed/wanted them.

holy sheeyit! IF that's your personal definition of "rough" (asuming they're not trimmed, etc, which I believe they're not), then the examples in MY set really suck!

nice pickups.

LOL. Somewhat rough.

Most corners are dinged, and with my exceptional scanning skills, I have managed to cut a few of them out so the pics actually make them look better than they are.

Thanks.

Thanks for the comments guys. I can't stop staring at it. Easily one of my favorite cards I've owned.

That is the most beautiful 3.5 I have ever seen! Congrats on the pickup!

Also digging that 59 Kaline Baseball Thrills. I am not a huge fan of subsets, but I always loved this one. In the early 80s, the Musial one was in a local shop and I was in love with it. Paid $7.50 after saving up allowances for awhile. I probably got ripped off given it has a pinhole in it, but man I love that card.

Edit: I just looked and you can get the Musial's pretty cheap on Ebay for a beater. Don't care; wouldnt change the childhood experience of owning that beautiful card for the world! "Oh, you have a 1989 Upper Deck Jerome Walton!?! That's cool. Have I showed you my '59 Musial?"

I may need to go and buy the Kaline now.....

Default 56 Mantle

Thanks Cooptown!

It's been a good week. Just got this in today. Have always loved the 56 Topps Mantle with the duel head and action shot.

Nothing fancy, just filling in some more gaps in my 1969 set, but that 1971 card is the last card I need to finish the 1971 set. 1971-1980 are complete, but 71 is the roughest set I have and will be the first to get upgraded once I finish 1969 and 1970 off.
