Nice Garvey...I actually just got one last week too. I spent a few years in San Diego as a kid and it was awesome going to see the 84 Padres with Garvey, Nettles and Gossage...it was like seeing legends from eons earlier (i.e., before I was born) walking the earth as a 9 year old...those guys mean a ton to me.

I can't argue with the best action shot ever. The fact that it happen to come in the 1st set that every included color photos is really cool.

A mix of stuff waiting in my office after several days on the road.

The comic books and Ernie Banks card were from a cartoonist I met at the Ernie Banks statue. Yours for a little more than a stamp at his Etsy site--

https://www.etsy.com/listing/2139944...ue-2-portraits

The Rice and Reggie cards are two of my favorites from the 1978 Topps issue. The Reggie captures his greatest moments as Mr. October, and the Rice card was from his MVP year, easily one of the five best offensive seasons of the 1970s.

And the Alston is the ninth of 24 cards I need for my 1956 Brooklyn Dodgers team set. As a math nerd, I love the cartoon on the back.

Nice Palmer RC. He is one of the lucky ones, of that era, who did not have to share his RC with other players.

Default Stan "Musical" RC

I finally finished my Stan "Musical" (as my wife calls him) display. It took me 2 years to find (and win) a decently centered 48 Bowman.

I'll post the display when I get a chance.

Great Winfield and Stan The Man. Both would look right at home with higher grades, too. Both are really slept on great cards: the Winfield for its amazing colors and the Stan because he was truly one of the very few best to ever play the game-- I always have felt he doesn't get the props he truly deserves from a hobby standpoint.

I thought that 75 Winfield was under graded too. The crazy thing is PWCC had 2 other 75 Topps Winfields that were PSA 8's (instead of SGC). The centering of the PSA 8's were not as good and they had some print problems (common with 75 Topps so I don't think it hurt their grade but it does hurt the eye appeal). The PSA 8's sold for 2.5X the price of the SGC 8 even though the card in the SGC holder was plainly superior to the other 2.

I'm just glad there are so many dummies out there who don't even look at the card condition and only look for PSA and a number beside it.

Amen to that. Their willing blindness creates some great finds for the rest of us! That Winfield was a real come up.

Just copped this insane Mays from Sean. The 51 Mays just does not routinely get found with this centering.

Ted is one of my favorites. The Aaron rookie doesn't display the type of centering I usually go for, but the price was right and I like it.

2 more Mantles to my PC! The 64 has quite a few scratches on the case so looked mighty crappy with my scanner, will either send it back for reholdering or try to cross it to a PSA 8. and the 65 is incoming.

Thanks guys! JB, the link to my Mantles are in my signature. I believe I am at 14 right now, still aways to go and some expensive ones to acquire. So if anyone has any they want to move pm me. I will also consider any upgrades with better centering.

Wanna give a S/O to Matt for selling me this sweet Rose RC. Card arrived today and looks even better in person!

I was happy to pick this pretty clean card up at a nice price. Perhaps someday I will go for his full career as I have with Hank Aaron and J.R. Richard, but for now I have only the 1957, 1958, 1963 "Power Plus," 1964, and now this 1961.

Default 1948 Leaf Jackie

Sold my PSA 5 and downgraded just a tad to free up some money. Very happy with this replacement and the color is actually better than on my PSA 5.

Some of you know I am working on a 1956 Dodgers team set to commemorate Brooklyn's first and only championship in 1955. My goal, seldom realized, was to find great eye appeal and centering within the VG-EX or EX grades (or more to the point, within those price ranges). What a dream come true this Jim Gilliam was for me. With my aging eyes, I seriously wouldn't be able to distinguish this card from a PSA 10.

And not technically a card, but this Aaron cover has been my white whale since practically the day I returned to collecting. I wouldn't have even guessed that one this nice looking still existed. I believe it is also Aaron's first solo cover on a national publication, but let me know if I'm forgetting something.

Picked up the 1969 Banks as well to replace the 1956 Banks JET I donated to the Ernie Banks memorial.
