May birthday month plus 15% off means bigger purchases than I’m used to. Grabbed a low grade Brooksie rc for TTM and a couple of HOF RC’s. Saved over $60 off the Banks/Kaline. Got the Brooks a couple days ago.

Wanted to grab a Rose RC as I’m less that 30 cards from the 63 set but with nothing in my range at a good value it will have to wait. Really wanted to take advantage of the 15% coupled with gift cards.

just arrived .... one of the greatest PSA 3's I have ever owned. Asked the seller, and he said there is the slightest surface wrinkle under his neck area ... moving the card at an angle you can see one, but it is barely there.

Holy Toledo! That is a beautiful 52 Mays. Congrats, Neal.

Anyway, I added a few cards to my growing collection recently. Kalines and Killebrews are always welcome additions, and this is my first Clemente, so that's exciting.

Picked up some duplicates at our local monthly show this past weekend. The “collector” grade Mantles cost $45 total for both. The difficult to find Choo-Choo Card was stickered at $30 but all the dealers cards were 50% off plus discounted 10% if you bought more than one card. So the ‘66 hi number short print tough to find “Choo-Choo” was $13.50 a bargain I think!

Using the recent ebay coupon code, I was able to grab up this beautifully centered 1961 Mays high number at a good price, bringing me incredibly close to finally finishing off this nightmare of a tough set...

Default May Pick Ups

eBay splurge, now I need to sell some things...With due respect to the card with burlap borders, this is my favorite early Ryan. Still with the Mets, a bit of an awkward pose, and a high-numbered card in one of the last sets where that would matter.

Default The 1952 Topps Set:

Also known as the impossible dream (completing it anyway)

Some months ago, I decided to take on the easier portion of the set, cards 1-280. With the two cards shown here, I have completed that.

Next are the next thirty cards: #'s 281-310. I just purchased ten of those thirty along with six others I already owned. So, I need just 16 more to have the first 310 cards of the 407-card set.

Everyone knows who #311 is and I don't see ever landing one of those. Goes against my principles (and bank account) to grossly overpay, even an essential card like that.

I only own three of the remaining 97 cards in the set and may not manage to get much closer...so, the 310 will most likely be my 'farthest on' point.

Ha! Maybe I'll draw one on him, Curt. I'm sure it wouldn't hurt the value much.

Nice cards, Raymond. I am fairly close to completing my #1 to #310 run as well, but with some pricey cards still needed to complete that run, I am not so sure that will happen let alone the #311 to #407 run.

I'll keep picking away here and there but there currently isn't any rush to complete it. I enjoy the challenge/chase anyways, so as long as I am having fun, that is all that matters.

Working on a Fergie auto run like my Brooks run posted in the April thread. Also gonna work on Ryne Sandberg soon. I’ll probably get these cased up eventually when SGC has another special as I really like the look.
