Fake second chance offer

Perhaps many of you have seen this/discussed it, if so please disregard.
An eBayer friend forwarded to me a message he received today, a "second chance offer" on a card I sold on auction a couple of weeks ago. He readily recognized this as a fake. I don't believe he even bid on the card. I've been paid for the card and it has been shipped to the buyer. Smooth transaction. Is this a new scam?

Hi Dwight,
I did bid on the card, in fact I was the underbidder. These second chance offers are not new, but are becoming more sophisticated. Most of the Guys, and Joanne know that all second chance offers are bogus unless they are received thru your Ebay message system. Be well Brian


PS I hate being out Snipped..... but, at least it went to another board member.

Well, we aren't supposed to talk about religion on the board but if we talk about ourselves I guess it's no big deal. Yes, I am Jewish....the "snipping" I was referring to was more about birth control than hygeine....but lets get back to cards....quickly....or I am running the other way.....take care (long story but my birth last name was Kaplan)......

I'm sorry you got snipped Brian - in the auction vernacular, that is. As for the other snipping, I'm too old for it to be a concern .. but OUCH, dude.

I actually got a bogus 2nd chance offer on a card that I WON! I exchanged numerous emails with the dork for a day or so just to mess with him. They even have a bogus website called trexlogistics through which they proposed to set up an escrow payment.

Leon - I thought the Kinkster was the only one of us down there in Texas.
