Default 1931-34 Goodwill Tour Japan Photo ID Help

Many many years ago I acquired a number of items that came from the Lefty O'Doul estate. There were a number of pictures I simply put away and haven't seen the light of day in decades.

This photo shows O'Doul, Ruth, and Mack with one other man, not sure if it's player or not. I don't know if this is from the 1931 or 1934 Tour either.

Anyone know who the mystery man is on the far right?

Sorry, I don't know who's on the far right, but the guy on the far left looks more like Lefty O'Doul than Lou Gehrig.

Agreed---not Gehrig on the left at all.

Default Here's the roster of the '34 tour with Ruth

The 1934 Tour of Japan included a most impressive roster of major baseball talent:

•Connie Mack, Manager
•Babe Ruth
•Jimmy Foxx
•Lou Gehrig
•Lefty Gomez
•Charlie Gehringer
•Earl Averill
•Bing Miller
•Moe Berg
•Earl Whitehill
•Frank Hayes
•Rabbit McNair
•Hal Warstler
•Joe Cascarella
•Clint Brown
•Lefty O'Doul, Coach

I'm not sure who the guy at right is, yet. But this is the roster.

Best,

Robert S

Far person on the right could be Robert Schroeder A's traveling secretary who was in on the planning of the 1934 trip.

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but Dto7 nailed the ID on the picture. Indeed it is Robert Schroeder.

I happened to find that the BB HOF acquired some movie footage that Jimmy Foxx apparently took during the trip. I can be viewed here:

http://baseballhall.org/discover/193...tage-uncovered

At 1:42 there is a shot of the four men in my photo with IDs. Very cool to see the movie, and know that my photo was actually shot at the same time.
